[TheForge] Blacksmith needed for demo October 2 in Hemet (Riverside Co.) CA.

While in Hemet, CA, last week, I stuck my nose into an "antique" store
with a yard full of interesting things - wagon wheels, most obviously.
Not surprisingly, I soon found blacksmithing equipment. Two anvils, a
leg vice, three forges with blower, two additional blowers including a
real antique. Expecting high prices, I asked if the stuff was for
sale.

"No" came the reply. "That's my shop." So I introduced myself and
soon we were shooting the bull about blacksmithing. Ernie, the owner,
is a beginner blacksmith, interested in learning more. (He intends to
join CBA.)

But his more immediate need is for a blacksmith demonstrator for an
event he's holding in October. This is to be a "wild west" show with
"The Cowboys" - a troup of twelve men and twelve saloon girls who do
stunts, "shootings", brawls, etc. There will also be country music and
a barbeque. His grounds aren't enormous, but he will have ample
parking, so with good publicity he may attract a crowd.

Ideally, he'd want a blacksmith experienced in giving demos. The
demonstrator could sell his stuff there, and Ernie seems amenable to
suggestion.

Anyone interested would be well advised to visit Ernie's place long
before the event. Ernie's shop is not fully functional yet. For
example, his leg vise isn't mounted, and the blowers attached to his
forges don't work (but he has a gear-driven blower that does work and
could be used). You would NOT want to see the place for the first time
on the day of the demo.

Do NOT respond to this list as Ernie is not on it and doesn't get
email. Rather, phone him directly at 909-658-2552. His business
address is Silvarado General Store (Antiques, Collectibles, Southwestern
Art, Leather Goods), 448 N. San Jacinto, Hemet, CA 92543.
