Thanks for the horror stories, Mike.
I hadn't forgotten about your patina question last week. As far as I know
polished will work fine for them. What did you wind up doing, an antique
brown patina?
So it sounds like your choice for joinery is still  brazing?

Bronze handrail is not fun!!!!!!
Just did two three step entrance sections with
scroll's and lambs tongues.

I did the joints with silly bronze and brought it to a
high shine and every thing looked great..
The big problem is when you want to put a patina on
it. Thats when you see all the mismatched colors..
You know the cast components are different metal then
the handrail and then you through in the silly bronze 
joints and it all goes to hell as far as the color.

Silver solder  works with very tight fit joints and a
feather torch, most of the time you loose patience and
burn off the flux and then everything gos to hell
