[TheForge] Oil rubbed bronze

Well, acrylics are OK I suppose, but I'm not the biggest fan of
synthetics. Tung oil or linseed oil with a dryer. Smells a bit,
but I like the odor... some people don't. It will yellow a bit with
time, but it is on bronze, so who cares? It's a warm, "organic"
finish that is easily replaced, whereas synthetics are a pain in the
ass.

You could also try water borne polyurethanes. Tough as the devil and
they don't discolor at all. I refinished my floors using that in about
1990. Until my house burned down in 02, that floor looked like the
refinish had been done that morning and no discoloration at all.

If these are to be inside, I would not put anything on them. If
outside, how about clear powdercoat? If you're goign to go synthi,
then go all the way and armor plate the damned thing.

Just a thought.
