[TheForge] New Gas Forge

That's a good-looking piece of gear. I have a couple of questions on it.
A friend has a commercial-built forge with the burners in the middle of the
top like yours, and he's getting some pretty serious erosion of the
refractory material where the flame hits the bottom. Are you seeing
anything like that yet? It might take a number of hours of use for this to
show.
Is there a specific design reason to put the burners on top? You said you
had to bend the tubes to prevent heat from going up to the burners. Mine
(Larry Zoeller-type sidearm burners) are set horizontally into the side to
avoid that problem. They're on a round forge, which may change the design
needs.
Does it weld well? What kind of pressure do you need to get welding heat
out of it?
Thanks for sharing; I got a couple of ideas from it already.

To All,
I just finished building a new atmospheric gas forge using square tubing
instead of round pipe. It has several new improvements to it. Check it
out and let me know what you think. The forge can be found at the
following url.
