[TheForge] COSIRA documents- "can't find adobe"

Ray,

I've tried that with mixed success. None of the files open correctly by
simply clicking on them. I get the series of error messages previously
described.

I was able to "right click" and save all of the files on the main page of
the website as .pdf files. Once saved, I can open them without problem.
Those documents for which you are directed to another page, and then told to
download a section at a time, are definitely still a problem. When I try to
open one of them directly, my system recognizes them a .pdf files and tries
to open them with Acrobat. I then simply get the series of error messages.
If I right click and choose "save target as", my system merely saves the
current screen as html. I tries as the second page links. The only one I was
able to save as a .pdf was the first section under "Wrought Ironwork: an
manual of instructions for craftsmen".

Like I said before, there is definitely a problem with the website, and it
hasn't been fixed yet (it appears that they fixed the first page only). As
I'm sure a few on this list will attest, website design can be difficult,
particularly when it comes to assuring compatibility with all/most systems.
Anyway, I was able to download some good stuff and really do appreciate what
the folks at The Countryside Agency are trying to do.

Dan

Have you tried "right" clicking and saving the files, then trying to open
them qith Adobe?

That worked on my Mac.
