Just a hint. Most browsers will respect 'Shift+LeftButton' as a request 
to download the link (the link could be a file, an url, etc). This would 
  make it possible to by-pass the browsers tendency to load a viewer, in 
this case adobe/pdf. That might have saved you a lot of hassle.
