Wayne, Have you provided any lubrication to the incoming air supply?
Sounds to me like your valve is sticking and frees up when you have given it
some action. This is a common problem I had with my air hammer sometime
back. To fix you will need to shut off your air supply. Open the line and
add some lubrication. Air tool oil is good but SAE 30 NON detergent will
work too. I added a by pass loop to mine so I could put in a squirt of oil
from time to time without breaking the supply line. Give it a try. The oil
is good for the cylinder seals too -- just don't over do it.
