Back to the initial note for the answer....our money is worth much less 
of late,( devalued currency) so things  we compete for internationally 
cost much more...our govt did this deliberately. Amusingly, they also 
took the price of fuel out of the cost of living index. Another screwing 
with no kisses.        Pete F
