Yeah.  I agree.  It's all kinda tricky.  It's already a steel-pot
metal composite.  Complicated shape with various places where bolt-on
parts have to fit properly.  Still haven't found the low-voscosity
epoxy for the finer cracks.  I've done some really cute repairs on
wood with white glue and a cotton thread wrap (e.g. a broken briar
pipe shank).  No way to wrap here. In some places some carefully
shaped pieces of some fine mesh might work.  I was thinking of some
1/16" holes through the pot metal with steel wire epoxied in, just
like rebar.  Pot metal was a poor choice for this item and I
understand Webster made some (later?) models with brass instead.

Since the engine goes with a spark coil, fixing the mag can be put
aside repeatedly for episodes of head scratching and advice- and
product-seeking.
