The pre-made bushings that I have used were all slightly oversize so 
that they are press fit in the bore of the stated dimensions. Like a 
.750 OD bushing is actually .7525 OD. So if you ream your hole to 
.750 the bushing will be a press fit. If you drill it to.750 the 
bushing may actually slide in as many drilling setups make oversize 
holes due to less than ridged setup and excessive run out in the 
spindle.
