No, the bent end was only used where the "stock" (there's some question
about that name) slips through its mounting hole and folds against the
anchor for stowing.  Bill's anchor is welded solid - one piece, so no
bend needed.  That's another thing Walt taught us in that workshop.

Very nice Bill, but you need to bend one end of the stock  90 degrees,
so it
won't  look like it was made by a land lubber.
