The one in the photo and on which the dwg is based was in an
architectural ceramics factory that had been, in 1980, already
years out of business. It had been used to press damp clay powder
into molds for tiles and similar pieces. So yes, it was British and
probably fairly old.
I haven't seen any of the new ones myself.
