Makes it extra important then that you give it a vigorous breakin :)
I've bought some pneumatic stuff from them. If it's a heavy use tool
it pays to buy their extended warranty at time of purchase.
I bought one of their palm nailers after it became apparent my hands
can't handle swinging a hammer for long periods of time. Essentially
it's an air hammer with the trigger being the anvil itself. put nail in
tip, push against surface and it triggers the cylinder to release.
Used it to finish the interior of a 65 x 60 barn and lean-to. lots of
framing, girts to hang, and then lots of free standing shelving and
such. Needless to say it's driven thousands of nails, including a
bunch of 10 inch ring shank pole barn nails (ringed from tip to head)
It hammers those things in, taking about 6 seconds. It takes me two
minutes to hammer one of those in by hand and I need a break after doing
it. Claw hammers are now self defense items, prying and pulling bent
nails. :)
Anyhow I didn't intend to turn this into a palm nailer commercial, I
just really like the thing... :)
I opted for the sears extended warranty on that when I got it, figuring
it would be used heavily up on ladders and possibly dropped a lot.
When it was about two years old, had pounded in thousands of nails,
including some really nasty duty pushing about 400 hardened nails
through 1/8th inch angle iron (20 seconds each, no predrilling)...
Dirty looking, scratched up and dropped a few hundred times I finally
messed it up. Totally my fault. Drove over the damned thing with my
skid steer.
It was replaced, no questions asked. I think the warranty was $15,
nailer cost $99. Got my moneys worth.
