Hi all, I've just got back to school after the summer holidays to find my auto-darkening welding helmet had packed up. I phoned my welding supplier (www.wilstar.co.uk and reccommended if you're in the UK - say I sent you!) who told me to leave it in the sun for a while. Sure enough it worked after that. No mention of not leaving the helmet in the dark in the manual... Rich.
