Think of it as a triangle with a 12 foot side, a 90 deg. angle, and a 3 deg.
angle.
Tangent of 3deg is .0524
12 feet = 144", 144 x .0524 = 7.55

It doesn't increase by a constant amount if you change the lean, so that
approach won't give you an accurate answer.
