Sure. He actually set up a spot welder specifically to weld jump rings. 
He'd sit in front of it with pliers in each hand, twist the ring put it 
between the points, step to hold it then push the pedal to weld the ring. 
Still takes a lot of time to do 10,000 welds for a shirt.  From the look of 
the rings, they overlapped just slightly, then collapsed to a single plane 
as they were welded.
