The SOFT is really important -- in the past I have worked with high pressure
hydraulic fitting that used a copper washer as the seal.  Worked very well
with dead soft copper, but the fitting could only be tightened twice (i.e.
made up twice) with the same washer or it would leak.  After that you need
to replace the washer or anneal it.
