Probably most do ... they watch too many movies and TV Westerns.

When I was Lead Blacksmith up here at Heritage Hill in Green Bay, the thing 
I heard most often was a parent telling their child "this is where you get 
your horse shoed."  To which I usually replied something like "I shoe 
flies, not horses.  But if you want your horse shod, then go down the 
street to the local livery and have the farrier do it for you."  The sign 
on the side of the shop says "Ornamental Iron" just as it did way back when 
it was originally built.
