Hello Dave and Jack
The CBA charges $4 or $5 for a tape loan and requires a deposit check.
Steve Volts , our library guy, has put a huge amount of his time into it
and done his usual fine job.
"non profit does not mean no income "
In light of the education orientation of our org, One would think that
the library is a central function, and like the publications should be
subsidized if necessary.
Tapes are pretty cheap, the cost is in the time it takes to make the
copies I assume. There is some economy of scale applicable as well, I'm
sure.
For me, having chosen artistic freedom over income perhaps a little too
much, the cost of the ABANA tapes makes them mostly inaccessable .
Since most ABANA conferences happen in the eastern part of the
country, they too are mostly out of reach.
So, my ABANA membership is a subscription to the magazines, to
over-state it a bit.
This ,most adamantly, is not to denigrate the fine work and generous
contribution of the days from your lives that you put into ABANA.
It would be nothing without you guys and that's certainly appreciated.
I'm just gently trying to tug it in what I see as it's intended direction.
Economic barriers to entry and use of the primary organs of the org's
core values should be minimized.
Gee that sounds pompass..think I'll fart now just for balance......Pete
