The metalworking and welding newsgroups pretty regularly discuss which plasma cutter. rec.crafts.metalworking and sci.eng.joining.welding are their names; I'd look in the welding group as there is a lot less stuff to sort through. Esab seems to be of uncertain reliability, Hypertherm and Thermal Dynamics are very well liked. Steve Smith
