Tom,  No direct experience myself but rebar folks do this all of time for
smaller rebar sizes -- and they do it cold.  The rebar comes coiled and then
they run it through a 3 roll straightner arrangement. It then proceeds to be
cut to 20 ft lengths.  There is a rebar sales  and processing company in
Knoxville that does this.  Might be able to have them straighten it and cut
to what ever length you might want.
