Dear Marc,

Actually, all I was saying was that a bigger anvil jiggles less when it is
struck by the ram, so the ground jiggles less when it is struck by the
anvil. Could have saved all those bytes...

A small fast hammer and and a large slow hammer may have the same total
energy, but not the same effect. There are an almost infinite number of
variables. This is really a different topic. I do have an opinion based on
my personal experience, I can address this another time.
