Anneal, grind to about 120 grit, draw file, grind out all possible stress
risers, normalize, harden, stress relive, final grind with out gloves to
insure you don't over heat the blade, stone, wet paper finish down to about
600 grit using water laced with 409, cool mist etc., degrease, etch in a 140
F. mix of 1 part ferric Chloride to 3 parts warm distilled water, boil in
distilled water, neutralize in Tri Sodium Phosphate solution, spray down with
WD-40. and rub vigorously with brown paper shopping bag several times a day
for 3 days, light polish with 1200 grit paper to high- light the etch, spray
down with fluid film and presto you are ready to fit your handle etc.
