Most yards are in the $ .15 to .25 per pound range depending on how good
they think the stuff is and what they think you will pay. Heavy big chunks
should be less -- 2 x 2 by 1/4 angle iron more. Don't be afraid to tell
them bull shit. Remember they only paid 2 to 3 cents a pound for it as
scrap. The longer they have had something -- the less it should be. Some
yards like to move it in and move it out -- mostly to steel mills in which
case they are only getting a little more than they paid for it to get it in
the form the steel mills want. Wear old work clothes and take a old
truck -- remember you really don't want it.
