Dave, 

Because it is free to me,  I have used several hundred gallons of used 
restaurant cooking oil to make "black top" out of my gravel drive way.  It 
stops the erosion, dust, etc. and lasts a few years.   As for burning it in 
a fuel oil stove/  burner forge, I think that it would need to be heated, 
filtered, and mixed at least 50/50 with fuel oil.  Now that you share the  
idea with me <grins>. 

Carver Castings of KC Missouri uses a fuel oil furnace conversion to melt 
his brass.  I think that I shared  his address with you a year or two ago, 
as he made up a bunch of brass rope wrench tools for me. 

For several years, I have used "used restaurant veg oil" for my oil quench.  
I like the smell  of cooked french fries a lot better than burning trans 
oil.
