It sold for $600, as Kevin stated.

Actually, that price is about in line for what they have been going for
nationally, even in the midwest where blacksmith equipment is
everywhere. Its not that a double screw vise like that is necessarily
better than a similarly sized machinist vise, its just that
blacksmith's really like the way they look. There was one of those
vises at the Lacrosse Abana conference, at one of the demo stations,
and it got almost more attention than the demonstrator. The cool
mechanical look of the sprockets and chains, the construction of the
chain itself, which is more like an agricultural implement chain than a
motorcycle chain, and the hefty, solid construction of these vises
really appeals to the sensibility of the average blacksmith. And there
arent very many of em out there. I heard there was ONE of them for sale
at the Quad State, and it sold right away on thursday for 750- this is
at an event with 6-800 of the savviest, bottom feeding, deal seeking
blacksmiths in the world, and with probably 500 vices for sale at the
tailgate sale.
Its not the "collectible" market that is driving the prices of these
up- it is blacksmiths themselves.
