that brings back memories of when the subs would go out for sea trials, 
I worked in the Wet Docks of
General Dynamics, we were the last ones to weld on 'em, and the first 
ones to fix'em when they came
back. Most certainly no welds were ever defective some were totally 
missing in places though.
I used to hate going down that sail into the C.O.C. all my gear getting 
caught on shit,  but I sure loved
my job. What was most fun was when a boat came back from trials and 
pulled into the floating wet dock
they raised that thing out of the water and what a sight it was. We had 
to go back and weld a pipe hanger
right in the Galley, when we arrived it was the movie theater, and the 
crew wouldn't let us set up. So
we had to watch TOMMY THE ROCK OPERA, what a tough shift that was. Tina 
turner getting sprayed with
chocolate in a white room yum yum, 1975 was a good year!
 That was a 688 Class Attack boat. What a great time that was, But CT. 
truly sucked.
