Good points, but on the flip side, people shouldn't work under the 
belief that they can be cut in half by a leak in their bottle jack.  The 
entrainment of a gas in a liquid presenting a hazard is something to 
avoid and is another reason the return line should be seperated from the 
suction line in a resevoir.
