Paul Thorne, from Anacortes, WA, spent a weekend recently demonstrating his
60 ton C-frame press at the NWBA conference.
He's a retired engineer and tends to think things through pretty thoroughly;
the C frame is VERY stout, though I could certainly see it flex when he
really worked it.
A very impressive demo indeed. I may have a photo if anybody's interested-
he's also very proud of it and would probably be happy to discuss it with
you.

As far as the pump goes, if it's a hazard, why wouldn't you put a guard on
it wherever it is?
