[TheForge] Suggestions needed for scroungeable steel

Charles,
When one can't discern the difference, what difference does it make?
I DO still share ideas with people I respect and who respect me.
Just not on this (or any other public) forum. I share these ideas with
my friends locally and get a lot of good suggestions from them.
I just reflected my latest design ideas last night off a good friend
(who participates here). He immediately accepted my bizarre notions of
what one might do with a treadle hammer, despite some apparent doubts,
and went on to address most succinctly the specific questions I had for
him. He may doubt the utility of the concept. He may doubt my ability
to construct the thing. But he doesn't let that get in the way of a
useful discussion of the concept.
That's what I DON'T get on these forums. (If you doubt this, check
this website and the internet for past postings on the Grasshopper TH
and on the Weightless Hamer.)
I don't want to dwell on this. I certainly do get something from
participating here, but bringing up some topics here is like trying to
discuss the your latest skin flick at a Southern Baptist's convention:
You'll surely get their attention, but not the sort of attention anyone
would deliberately seek.

You know, Phil's comments can be taken as just a little ribbing or the
product of a small minded dickhead. Either way doesn't matter and
shouldn't effect you sharing ideas with people you respect and who
respect you. <snip>
