Hey Roger,

I like mine. I bought the one that has a 0-1/2" and 1/2-3/4" chucks.
I've used it on 1/8 to 3/4 and think it works fine.

There is a lot of discussion on them you can find on
rec.crafts.metalworking if you do a Google groups search. Keep in mind a
couple of things:
1. date of letter
There were some difficulties with the DD when it first came out that
were fixed in later production models. So you may see some complaints in
the beginning that don't show up later. For one, early models used a
moisture sensitive plastic (silly mistake) that caused problems.
2. User
Before they sent the video along with it, some people could get them to
work just fine, others never could. The video helps a *lot*, must have
it. There are also anecdotal claims that some drill set brands don't
sharpen as well. No idea if this is so, or what brands they might be.

The key with the machine is to get the drill registered right in the
chuck. Get practiced at just sharpening bits before seriously trying
things like split points. I find just having sharp drills is enough, I
don't usually bother with split points.
