Yeah, Andy...my wife had the Lasik-thing done a couple of years ago and she,
along with the other 10 or so people I know that have had it are glad that
they did.  Most are spectacles-free, though a couple need them at night.
Lasik's a booming business here in San Diego...I've heard a recent ad for a
newer technique that is supposedly 100% computer controlled that comes with
a guaranty of success.  Find a Doc that has lots of refs. and check them,
then see if your condition is treatable.

	yes, I know about this.  the same happens when you look THROUGH
	your eyebrows.  The hairs act as a diffraction grate.

	I don't do this because people think I'm insane as it is.  All
	I need is to have the waitress notifying the manager of this
	guy that's got a hand glued to his eye... next thing you know
	it's the nice men in white coats coming to take you away for a
	talk with another nice man (or woman) in that posh hotel with
	the tufted walls.  Who'd feed the dogs?
