[TheForge] goggles f/brazing question

Your friendly welding supply house should have full face shields available
in various brazing / cutting shades -- a number 2 or 3 for example.
(Jackson makes them I know.) This is the same type of face shield that you
can use for grinding except in that case it is clear. I find that these do
not have as much fogging problem as do the goggles over glasses. You of
course can also buy another pair of safety glasses in various welding
shades, but this is rather expensive. (Before retirement when I often had
to go into welding areas at work I was issued a company purchased pair in a
number 3 shade. These were prescription glasses. This was just for
protection from an unexpected arc flash -- not for working with an arc
directly. They are great for brazing but are now the wrong prescription.)

You can also get welding goggles with "cheaters" that have the "reading"
portion of you lens. Again check with your welding supply house. These are
common problems for us "old" welders.
