Back in the stoneage when we were small, kids used to take their squirrel
guns to school for after-class hunting. I don't think there are too many
kids with the sense of responsibility to do that without shooting someone
or themself. Can you imagine the repercussions of bringing a gun to class
today? Summary execution at the hands of a SWAT sniper, no questions
asked.

So many kids are taught to helpless and stupid; it's a real shame. At 16
my grandma was married and had my uncle. She ran a household, soup to
nuts.
Baked, sewed, cared for the family, entertained company both formally and
informally, raised animals, was a top notch cook... and the list goes on.
There are very few American kids that can do the same today, and I
firmly believe that they are strongly, if tacitly, encouraged to be as
completely helpless as possible; grows em up into pliable adults. I find
it sad, not to mention something of disgusting, but that is the world in
which we live. It's that way because people want it that way. It's easy
that way. It's convenient. It's simple. It's without real
accountability
	for parents.

	Such is life, I suppose.
