Depends what part of the world you live in, doesn't it...I grew up in
Northern Michigan and my first thought was, gotta really watch those oak
trees- they'll give you no warning. But then those are red oaks, and they're
strong but brittle. You probably have whites, which are strong AND tough.
Maple is pretty strong but the crotches aren't.
