Hmmmm, let's see, piece of leaf spring, 20 minutes of work, I think it would take you longer to order one than to make one.  

WRT hardening and tempering, don't.  The first time I made a post vice spring I was working at Colonial Williamsburg and I asked the other PR about it.  He said don't bother, it still has enough spring just normalized.
