If you type "Scotch Yoke" (with the quotes) you only get hits that contain 
those exact words in that exact order.  It will not return hits for yoke 
.... scotch  or scotch .....yoke.  With the quotes Google still returns 
1,330 hits.  I looked as far forward as 300 (page 55) and all links still 
referenced the Scotch Yoke mechanical linkage.

So, if you can refine your search criteria you'll get what you want and a 
lot less unrelated stuff.

On the Google home page, to the right of the input box, there is a 
highlighted  -Advanced Search.  Click on that and it will help guide you 
through narrowing down your search.
