I'm the guy who made the post about getting swindled. If you read my post you'll notice I did not resort to using profanity. I've found that in everyday conversations swearing is usually used loudest by those who have little class, little command of the English language and little worth listening to on whatever the subject matter is. I've learned in my 46 years that sooner or later a persons true colors shine through, and sooner rather than later in stressful or dangerous situations.

We have all heard profanity, that is not the point. The question is to all those who choose to express themselves by using profanity, is that the best you can do? How about searching around in that cranium for a better, more descriptive adjective, noun or verb. Be truly creative. Profanity is usually so trite it fails to have much impact on the listeners other than to convey that the speaker is uncouth.

Let's expect more out of this forum than a string of vulgarity attached to a thought. This forum is about sharing information and welcoming all insights into the craft and skill of blacksmithing. Let's make everyone feel welcome. Let's not chase off anyone because of our four-letter words.

I'm sure Andrew has something worth saying, I'd just like to hear his intelligence come through rather than his anger.

I disagree with you about there being room on this forum for discussions about how to "kill motherfuckers" and that kind of garbage. I am hardly a sensitive person... having worked as a logger for 18 yrs. I can assure you that I've heard most every kind of profanity possible and I believe that sometimes there is a correct time and place for it. This forum deserves better than that sort of language. Vida just e-mailed me and accused me of having "boorish manners" and called me an "inbred trailer trash wog". Said I should unsubscribe if I don't like 
 listening to him. No.... I'll just continue to "wade" through his posts as I have done for the past several years. I just thought I should let MY opinion be known regarding this. I'm CERTAIN there are others who agree with me. T.
