Collectors.
The shape of the head being smaller than the sides is actually detrimental to a
lot of forging operations.

Subject: [TheForge] The Cats head hammer Hype

I ask this question mostly out of curiosity.I saw a couple of heller bros
cats head turning hammers go for well over 100.00 on ebay. Are these hammers
something every smith should have? Are they only really usefull to a
farrier? or is it that they are a rare item that collectors seem to want?
would appreciate any responses .
