An air compressor doesn't have to be loud. I was in a pro-blacksmith shop
that the compressor was so quiet running that I hardly noticed it. We were
using his CNC plasma torch when the compressor cycled off, that I first
noticed that it had been running at all. My big regret is that I didn't
buy that compressor when he sold out last summer.
A 2nd solution was in a large shop/ garage of another friend. He had used
1.5 inch and 3/4 inch PVC pipe to channel air around his 3 stall garage.
The PVC pipe made the full circuit with multiple snap couple outlets for
shorter air hose / air tool runs. He was proud of his setup as it provided
extra air capacity, and had several extra drop chambers to drain away
moisture buildup. He was able to locate the aircompressor in its own
compartment so that the noise didn't trouble our conversations.
Re: Lem the Wonder Mule. I have two mares that I hope to acquaint with a
big jack donkey and get a mule or two. They tell me that a mare needs to
gestate a mule foal for a whole year.. an extra month over what it takes for
a horse foal, just to put those long ears on.
