[TheForge] Looking for a magneto

So I've finally got my little Jardine running and enough storage fixed
up in the new shop and tonight finally got the last jumbled heap of
tools, stock and not-elsewhere-classified stuff picked up from where it
was dumped in the move and properly stowed.
And started on getting my 10HP stationary engine working, the one I
hope will provide the power for the 300# air hammer. Annndd....
I see that the Webster Tri-Polar Oscillator magneto is on the verge of
falling completely apart. I had the engine running after I bought it
and the mag works but the potmetal body (which is cast directly onto
the laminated iron core) is badly cracked and will soon disintegrate
if I try to use it.
Are any of you folks gas engine enthusiasts? Anyone have a Webster
Tri-polar for sale or trade? Or a spare body/core for one? Or have a
friend with a barn full of this stuff? Anybody in the Springfield
Mass/Hartford Conn area know the whereabouts of a fiddle player and
engine collector named Denny Clifford?
I found a guy on the net who'll sell a completely rebuilt mag of this
type but it's pretty pricey and he isn't much interested in trading
for anything.
