I built a collar out of 1: square stock that sits around the lower die  on 
my 50lb Little Giant. On right end (as one looks at the hammer)  and the 
front side is a set-bolt (1/2 x 13 Allen bolt with lock nut) and the other 
is a 1" x 1" x 2" deep hardy hole, all made from mild steel.  The lower die 
face is 1" above the body of the hammer, so tooling sits flat on the lower 
die.  I've built a number of 'tools' - swage plate, shapers, etc. that work 
reasonably well. The collar does vibrate loose after a while but has never 
slipped off.  ...just another option.
