I built a collar out of 1: square stock that sits around the lower die on
my 50lb Little Giant. On right end (as one looks at the hammer) and the
front side is a set-bolt (1/2 x 13 Allen bolt with lock nut) and the other
is a 1" x 1" x 2" deep hardy hole, all made from mild steel. The lower die
face is 1" above the body of the hammer, so tooling sits flat on the lower
die. I've built a number of 'tools' - swage plate, shapers, etc. that work
reasonably well. The collar does vibrate loose after a while but has never
slipped off. ...just another option.
