I have Batsons booklet and it's fine if you want to build the press that Batson built. But if all you need is the plumbing schematic you can go to your local farm store and look at a woodsplitter. Cheaper than the $25 for Batsons booklet.

Best place to look for press ideas is on the Bemidgi Blacksmiths meeting video sold by Roger Degner (on this list) for the UMBA. I think it's $6. The press used and made by Keith Johnson in the video sounds very much like the one Chuck Schaeffer described in another email today.
