Yes, Aaron, please feel free to join us. We're mostly SCA, but we're open to
any metalworker, at any level, from any discipline, although since I'm
running the List, there's a strong emphasis on blacksmithing. Part of what
we're trying to do is cross -pollinate techniques from one area of
metalsmithing to another, and it seems to be working- for one thing, I've
recently learned that the double lung bellows, which I had always thought
were later than SCA period, were actually used in blacksmithing in the
Rennaisance, as a cross- influence from the goldsmiths.
We're getting quite a good group of people- many of the folks on the List
are known to me as very fine metalworkers, with tremendous skills and a love
of sharing information in our peculiar hobby.
Keep in mind, too, that I have stated publicly, and will repeat- the only
dumb question is the one which isn't asked. The new people who join us are
great, because they help the more experienced among us express what we know,
but had never quite put into words before.
And btw, guys- the rest of you old cranks on TheForge are still welcome ;-)

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.
Never a horse that cain't be rode,
And never a rider who cain't be throwed....
