Dave,

They did it, believe it or not. From Anvil Magazine:

"Effective December 1st, 2002, Anvil Magazine has discontinued
publication of a printed version of Anvil Magazine and will continue to
provide new publications within this web site as Anvil Magazine Online.
Our Internet circulation is more than four times that of the printed
magazine and it has been determined that we will better serve our
readership and advertisers using this more cost effective format. We are
currently redefining our procedures and plan to continue monthly Anvil
Magazine Online publications in February 2002."

you would really have to ask them, but that doesn't sound very practical
for
a big magazine like ANVIL. I am sure that some of their readers are not
necessarily computer users. Maybe they will offer an all digital
subscription option. Seems like that ought to be a lot cheaper than a
printed copy but I seriously doubt that they would do away with the
printed
magazine.
