Baking soda works just fine.  Washing Soda is a 20 Mule Team product is can 
usually be found in a yellow (IRC) box in the laundry additives area at 
your local super market or other store.  I'd stay clear of Drano and Red 
Devil Lye, but that's more personal as opposed to whether or not they make 
effective electrolytes for the water.
