By the way, I have to say "thanks" also to Dave Brown for pointing out that Ric
is from Wisconsin, which confirmed he was the guy I was seeking.
I think I'm going to be watching Ric demo at QuadState in Troy, Ohio this
September.

I don't know how interested you are in blade forging, but Ric AKA
"Poindexter"
gave a great demo on custom making your own alloy steels at the last Batson
Blade  Symposium.
He is  truly on the cutting edge of this subject.
He was selling a mimeographed compilation of technical info he calls
"STEEL MAKING & HEAT TREATMENT "FROM DIRT TO DAGGER'
If you want a copy,  you might want to contact him before hand.
