[TheForge] Lapping compound

There was a discussion awhile back about valve lapping compound.
Here's another application:
The big end bearing parts on my A&O air hammer are held together with
special 7/8" x ca. 10" bolts and nuts. The nuts came off real hard
and after cleanup still require a lot of weight on a 2' wrench to turn
them on. Gonna be hard and awkward to re-assemble inside the tight
space of the hammer body. Running a tap through the nuts didn't help.
No visible distortions. Machinist's blue didn't reveal any obvious
high spots.
So I smeared the bolts with lapping compound and turned the nuts on
and off a few times. Cleaned off the abrasive real carefully. The
nuts now can be turned on by hand with a little effort.
