mmmm. think I'll hang onto my old windows. Gotta be cheaper in the long run. LOL

When at Don Asbee's shop, he showed us his home made heat exchanger. It was
a large diameter heating duct filled with a bunch of electrical conduits.
The basic operation was the exhaust air goes through the conduits and the
fresh air goes through the duct work and sucks heat from the conduits. It
probably cost him a couple hundred in materials, but that is a far cry from
7-8 grand. It is important to have a filter on the exhaust side so the
conduits don't get all clogged up.

My favorite "This Old House" has a scene in which the owner is confronted
with the thought that he is spending 7-8 grand for a fancy heat exchanger/
fresh air intake, which he needs to compensate for the brand new extra tight
windows he just dropped an extra 10 grand to install. You could almost see
his colon tightening.
