When people are discussing woodworking injuries, I love to tell them how
I lost a toe in a table saw accident. 3/4" dado blade stack took out my
index finger joint among other things. The doctor on call at 3am was a
researcher who did an experimental joint replacement using my toe as the
donor. My wife made the decision on the experimental surgey since I was
under. When I awoke with a bandaged throbbing foot I figured I had hit
the medical malpractice jackpot. As it was, I was even luckier, I got
the use of my hand back. It doesn't work perfect, but only I notice.
